Working at Sirona care & health

We’re Sirona care & health, a Community Interest Company committed to providing integrated health and social care services to people across Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire. For us, it’s about the personal approach; we take pride in what we do and delivering the high standard of care that we’d expect for ourselves and our families.

Joining our friendly, welcoming team, you’ll make sure that people feel safe, respected and able to achieve their goals – and we’ll make sure that you’re well supported and valued in everything you do. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end here – far from it. We’ll get you started with a planned induction and throughout your career with us, there will be an extensive range of learning and development programmes for you to get involved in. These include support for professional qualifications and IT, numeracy and literacy skills.

On top of good rates of pay and a great working environment, we provide a variety of other benefits. These include: generous holiday arrangements, a contributory pension scheme, a health and wellbeing programme, childcare vouchers, in-house physiotherapy support and more.

Here, you’ll provide basic health care and practical support to meet the varied needs of residents living in our care settings. Your vital role will include everything from helping individuals to get up and dressed in the morning and daily personal care tasks, to getting involved in activities. You’ll be appreciated and supported – both by the people you care for and your colleagues – and trusted to do your job in the way you feel is best. Building relationships based on respect and understanding, you’ll love the everyday reward of knowing that your work is making such a positive difference to people’s lives.

While you don’t need to have worked in care before, you’ll need to be great with people and have a compassionate nature and good communication skills. Positive, patient and proactive, you’ll work well both independently and as part of a team, and deliver care and support tasks to a standard that you can be proud of. You’ll show genuine warmth, kindness and understanding towards every individual you support, making sure that their needs are well looked-after.  As a Support Worker, you will receive excellent training.  Sirona has been awarded a Gold Standard in relation to career development of our Support Workers, and you will complete the newly recognised Care Certificate on joining us.

We have a range of shifts available. Typically Support Workers need to be able to cover early’s (8am-2.30pm/3pm), late’s (2pm-9pm/10pm) and every other weekend.  We also have more flexible/casual hours available and ‘nights only’ and ‘weekend’s only’ shifts.

We are also looking for part-time Activities Co-ordinators to work weekdays (we can be flexible with the days/hours) and occasional evenings/weekends - £7.41 - £8.83 per hour (which equates to £11.11- £13.24 per hour with enhancements for weekends and bank holidays)

We provide care to the standard we expect for ourselves and our families.

Joining us in a Catering role

Catering Assistants: £6.58 - £7.62 per hour (which equates to £9.87- £11.43 per hour with enhancements for weekends and bank holidays)

Cooks: £7.41 - £8.83 per hour (which equates to £11.11- £13.24 per hour with enhancements for weekends and bank holidays)

As one of our important Cooks or Catering Assistants, you’ll prepare and serve meals that our residents will love. No two days will be the same as you get involved with everything from making sandwiches and hot meals, baking cakes and cookies to washing up and other food hygiene tasks. From breakfast to dinner, the food you prepare will please people and you’ll serve meals with a smile, showing kindness to every one of our service users.

This role is about more than just kitchen work, it’s about helping to make sure that the needs of the people we support are catered for. You don’t need to have worked in a care environment before but it’s important that you’re good with people and able to show warmth, kindness and understanding towards the individuals in our care. If you have some catering experience, that’s even better but don’t worry if not as we’ll provide full training and help you work towards a Food Hygiene Certificate.
